barry-allens-boyfriend:

Barry Allen is the perfect comic book character. He is good hearted. He saves people a lot and saves a lot of people. He goes above and beyond. Like rebuilding a house that burned down after saving people in it. He has a tragic past but he doesn’t let it affect his optimism. He doesn’t brood or stew in his own juices. He treats his enemies with respect and the public adores him so much they created a museum in his honor.

Bless this post.

''

One of DC’s original Rogues, Hartley is a bona fide genius who used to work at S.T.A.R. Labs until a falling out with his mentor, Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh). The particle accelerator robbed Hartley of his hearing, but inspired him to create a series of sonic weapons that he uses in an effort to punish Wells by destroying his new protege: The Flash.

Pied Piper is one of the few openly gay villains in the DC Universe, and I’m told The Flash will not be shying away from that aspect of the character.

The Flash Casts Smash Alum to Play Gay DC Comics Villain Pied Piper

I’m so happy that after Agent of SHIELD and Constantine’s queer erasures, The Flash is not choosing to go that path.

I know his weakness. This blur is a man.

So, my favorite thing about The Flash as a character is the ongoing importance of family. It’s pretty much been the case for the Wests and Allens since the Silver Age; their circle has grown much bigger, shrank again, and expanded again depending on DC’s whims. But family - biological and otherwise - has always played such a huge role in defining who The Flash is.

And so one of the things that makes me truly excited about the upcoming season of The Flash is seeing a preview that really drives that point home. Barry is great and amazing, but The Flash Family is the one true DCU family I have would always want to be a part of. They have their dysfunctions, but never have I ever doubted that they love each other - which is more than I can say about any other DCU family unit. If this show continues to depict that, I’ll be pleased.

What I actually love about this particular scene is that he says this and it comes so fucking close to “SMILE” that dudes do.

All the fucking time. It is a small, microaggression where they assume they have control over women’s bodies to the point where they can tell them when to fucking smile.

Now Barry Allen is may baby. He is my favorite Flash, my favorite DC character. I wll fight you over Barry Allen, his right to existence, and why he is better than anyone to ever put on a red and gold costume.

I would die in battle for Barry Allen.

I would chose the words of Barry Allen over the words of Steve Rogers.

Jsyk.

BUT HERE

HERE he was wrong.

And after she pulls her hair back, Caitlin damn well schools him on why she doesn’t fucking smile and isn’t going to.

And the narrative.

lets

her

be

right.

It’s everything I have ever wanted.

obscurelyclear:

Question for all my friends that are watching Arrow/The Flash. I just started S2 of Arrow and haven’t hit where Barry gets introduced yet. Do you recommend holding off on starting The Flash until I get through his Arrow episodes?

I would wait until you’ve seen the Arrow eps.

You don’t have to and the show will still make perfectly good sense to you without it. But You get more of a background into how flashback events in The Flash end up affecting Barry’s pursuit of justice by watching Arrow’s intro first.

But it is not necessary to watch the Arrow eps first to understand anything. Cero watched it without having seen the Arrow eps and she adored it as much as I did.

But don’t you just love it that he’s like “cool story, I’m slightly interested”?

The lengths that people are going to in these articles in order to say “HEY PIPER IS GAY. DID I MENTION THAT HE IS GAY?” while also trying to sound casual about it.

Ah, the ripe smell of failure.
